Welcome!

Hello and welcome to HealthRabbit! We're really excited that you have signed up for a Private Health Services Plan and that you now have coverage with us.  If you've had traditional health insurance before, we think you'll really like what a PHSP has to offer:

  • More things are covered. The legislation around PHSPs ensures that there are very few things that are not covered. Traditional insurance makes money when your usages is lower than what you pay in premiums giving them a lot of reasons to turn down coverage as much as they can. We don't benefit from blocking you from coverage. See details...
  • No arbitrary limits - you decide where your health dollars are spent. Traditional insurance caps the dollar value spent at each practitioner. HealthRabbit allows you to decide where your health coverage is spent up to your limit. If you choose to spend it all at the Chiropractor or at the Masseuse, that's up to you.
  • Works with Traditional Insurance - You can use your PHSP to pay for your Health Insurance Premiums. There are cases where traditional health insurance makes sense to have and can be part of a great health management strategy.

Next Steps

  1. Verify Limit & Start Date- Watch for an email from hello@healthrabbit.ca and ensure the annual limit, effective date, mailing address, and other information is correct.
  2. Submit Your Staff List - Complete the form attached to the email (or found here) with all of your staff information. It is important that the form be completed in full to ensure there are no delays in processing claims. You can add or remove staff at any time. If you don't have information for some staff, you can choose to submit your form without them and add them when the information is collected.​​​​​​ (Simply create a new instance of the form with the missing employees).
  3. Complete your funding - We'll be in touch to discuss your funding details, usually within 1-2 business days. We're still ironing out some options here, so there may some short term solutions for now.
  4. Receive Confirmation - Once everything is ready, we'll confirm that you are ready to roll your HealthRabbit.ca PHSP out to your employees.
  5. Review the Employee Welcome Package - You are likely included in the PHSP, so you should review the employee package as well! 
  6. Launch! Enjoy increased employee engagement, lower turnover, and happier staff as they use their PHSP.

We will coordinate with you to have your staff added to the system and allow you to roll the program out. Please pay attention to emails from HealthRabbit to ensure our timing works with yours. When you receive your Employer Welcome Package, it includes the Employee Welcome Package so you can review it.

Your Employee's Experience - What They Can Expect

Employees will receive:

  • A package as a PDF and as a .png image outlining how to access their PHSP
  • Instructions on how to set a password for their account on the HealthRabbit site
  • Confirmation of the annual coverage limit and effective program start date
  • Confirmation of their name and mailing address for reimbursement*
  • Instructions for providing banking details for claim reimbursements**

*In the short term, reimbursements will be made via paper cheque that is mailed out. We are in the process of implementing a digital payment system for claim reimbursements.

Supporting Your Employees

Traditional health insurance often has a representative in HR that can answer many of the questions that your employees will have. With a PHSP, many of those questions will be new and so we expect to work closely with employers, their HR representatives, and their Benefit Administrators to answer questions and build out training and documentation.

We will monitor our hello@healthrabbit.ca email closely and delegate additional support channels as needed to help you support your employees. If you can't find an answer in our documentation or FAQs, please let us know and we'll find an answer for you.

Important Notes

  • Please ensure you have discussed implementing a PHSP with your accountant. They will ensure that your class coverage amounts meet CRA requirements and that you are best able to maximize the benefits of your PHSP. 
  • You should update your employee engagement letters to reflect the coverage provided to employees and ensure the basic rules are understood. Your lawyer can help with this.
  • Employees and their details should be kept up to date. Please complete and email the HealthRabbit_EEM_Template.xls to hello@healthrabbit.ca as changes are required (new staff, terminated staff, name update after marriage, etc.)
  • As of early 2021, HealthRabbit is very new and we expect a few growing pains here and there. Your feedback is extremely important to us and processing claims quickly and accurately is our priority. If you run into an issue, please let us know and we'll do our very best to resolve it.   • Tell Others! If we're doing something wrong, please tell us. If we're helping your business, please help ours by telling your business-owning friends! We reward referrals!

All employers will be enrolled in our Employer Mail List where we will occasionally send general updates about new features, important dates, or general news. Each email will have the option to unsubscribe. You do agree to receive non-mailing list emails from HealthRabbit in the course of processing your claims, your employee's claims, and maintaining your personal and business accounts.
